We Love Small Hotels is a Portuguese business run by two sisters who focus on pairing active holidays with exceptional boutique lodging in Portugal and the Azores Islands. They offer self-guided walking holidays along traditional routes as well as other less-known paths. Trips often include dinners, cooking classes and other excursions. We LOVE their business concept as it meets a need that many walking holiday companies often fail to meet – the need to know exactly where you’ll be staying and seeing with your own eyes how amazing the property is BEFORE booking the trip.
Review of We Love Small Hotels Website
The site for We Love Small Hotels looks nice but it has some technical glitches with images and sounds and could use some cleaning up with the English translations. Those issues aren’t important, however, because their offerings are truly top notch. Use their search feature to filter by activity and/or region. Activity types include biking, walking, surfing, running and yoga, as well as other interests such as eco tours, family, food and wine, heritage, romance and trains. The level of detail depends on the trip. Some, like the Azores Walk Tour, provide all the important details, but others include just a basic summary. You can always request a detailed itinerary for more info. What sets them apart from everyone else is that you can browse by accommodations and they provide a great level of detail for each hotel. We definitely feel the love.
