Review of Camp Caucasus Website

Very polished site with most of the important details and easy way to search specifically for self-guided trips. Daily elevation changes aren’t always included but they’re very clear about high altitude hikes (some over 9,000 feet) and significant elevation changes. There are no trail ratings but based on what we’ve seen it’s best to assume every trip is in the challenging/difficult category. We wish there were more details or example photos for accommodations but they have some gorgeous landscape photos and videos that will entice you to visit!

Things to like about Camp Caucasus

  • One of the few tour companies operating along the Trans-Caucasian Trail
  • Includes audio trail guides
  • Meals are all inclusive with exception of a few lunches
  • Accommodations are in local guest houses that have been verified by the company
  • Provides a phone or local SIM card upon request
  • Airport transfers are provided (additional cost)
  • Camping and hiking equipment available for rent
  • Unique tours, such as their urbex tours which guide you through abandoned sanatoriums and old Soviet-era buildings or their summer sport tour with a fitness coach
  • Consistent 5-star reviews on Tripadvisor and Google
For these reasons and more, Camp Caucasus earns our Local Choice for walking holidays in Georgia. If you want less challenging hikes in Georgia, The Natural Adventure has some easier routes and provides lodging details (but you will pay a little more).
