Wine Country Trekking is a US based company offering California inn to inn hiking walking holidays that include wine tasting, catered dinners on the beach, kayaking and luxury accommodations. All of their trips are self-guided but with concierge level services and excursions. This is luxury walking, no doubt about it, and it’s a great option for those who are hesitant to try walking holidays. We’ve walked one of their routes as a DIY trip and it was amazing, but it was logistically difficult some days and required a lot of planning on our part. Some day we’d like to return and book with this company so we can compare the experiences.
Review of Wine Country Trekking Website
Wine Country Trekking’s website is beautifully designed, easy to navigate and does a good job of explaining walking holidays to an American audience. They offer trips designed for walkers, hikers and runners. We like their Compare Treks and Compare Trek Destinations pages, which make it easier to decide which of their trips you might want. Their itineraries provide all the important walk details (including elevation gain) but they don’t list accommodations by name. We’ve walked this route, however, and can attest that the lodging will be excellent and expensive (by most European standards).
