Vicentina Travel

Self-guided

Vicentina Travel is a Portuguese company focused solely on self-guided walking and cycling trips in Southwest Portugal. More specifically they cover the Rota Vicentina, which is a coastal walking trail between Lisbon and Faro. There are several companies offering similar trips on this route but Vicentina is one of the few that is locally owned and for that reason they earn our Local Choice for walking holidays in Portugal.

Review of Vicentina Travel Website

Vicentina’s site was having some format issues the last time we reviewed it. Hopefully those issues have been fixed because they have a good site. They make it easy to search only for walking holidays and they provide all the important walking details in their itineraries (elevation changes, difficulty level, route map, etc). We love that they include miles and not just kilometers. They don’t provide any details on lodging except to assure you that all lodging includes a private bathroom. We’d also like to see them add more info on the Rota Vicentina itself or at least provide a link to the Rota Vicentina Association.
