The Blue Walk

Guided

The Blue Walk offers small-group and private group walking holidays that combine art and culture in carefully selected European destinations. Designed for travelers looking to explore at a relaxed pace, Blue Walk tours provide plenty of time for sightseeing and a selection of daily walks, making it a great choice for walkers who want a mix of independent walking and socializing. Expect leisurely daily walks of around 2–4 miles, with frequent stops at points of interest. We especially love that this company is owned by two American women who love walking holidays and slow travel as much as we do — kindred spirits!

Review of The Blue Walk

It’s easy to navigate Blue Walk’s site and to find a tour based on destination or interest. They offer 2 themes, walking or journal art, and both include opportunities for daily walks. Their FAQ page details the 4 walking levels that you will find on their tours, levels 3 and 4 being options you can choose if you want to do some real hiking. Tour details include sample itineraries but are subject to change. Because the walks are optional, you won’t find details on the site about daily elevations or distance, but they do give you a good idea of what to expect.
Important to note that you are responsible for carrying your luggage between each destination. This is not a traditional inn to inn so you won’t be expected to carry everything while hiking, just when moving from lodging to lodging. Also important to note that a $500 non-refundable deposit is required to book a tour. You may reschedule but you cannot cancel entirely without forfeiting this deposit.
