Sitatuga Safari

Guided

Owner Joyce Mshana has taken her decades of experience with African safaris and started her own tour company. Based in Arusha, Sitatuga Safari offers pretty much any type of travel you can imagine within Tanzania. This includes wildlife safaris, walking safaris, hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro, hot air balloon rides and beach vacations on Zanzibar and the east coast of Africa. With Sitatuga Safari you get the benefits of an experienced local safari expert with the exclusive attention of a small family-run company. Every client is important with a local operator like this and you are guaranteed true customization and private guides without the sky-high prices of foreign-owned companies.

Review of Sitatuga Safari

One of the things we love most about Sitatuga Safari is how easy it is to find their hiking tours. Besides the requisite Mt. Kilimanjaro treks, they also cover alternative hikes along Mt. Meru, Lake Eyasi and Oldonyo Lengai. For Kilimanjaro, they offer the Lemosho, Machame and Marangu routes. Their site includes useful FAQs and great details for each tour (including accommodation links). You won’t see prices on the website and this is because every tour is tailor-made for each client.

Please note, at time of this review we couldn’t find online reviews for Sitatuga Safari (something the owner will need to improve on in future). However, we asked for references from clients and local partners and this is a sampling of what they had to say:

I fully recommend Joyce Mshana for walking safaris and trekking tours in Tanzania. She has extended experience working with international, including US, clients - she is personable, efficient, knowledgeable, and very responsible. Joyce has an excellent understanding of both the international tourism business and local geography and environment - including trekking routes and various communities throughout Tanzania. She is well connected in the safari industry, and managed a few companies before starting her own.

We travelled via Joyce a couple of years ago. We had a great trip visiting the crater and Serengeti. Joyce found some great luxury campsites for us and lovely local upmarket hotels in the towns. Our driver was great at spotting animals.
