Rajec Travel

Guided, Self-guided

Rajec Travel is based in Poprad, the starting point for hiking tours in Slovakia’s High Tatras Mountains. Founded by a woman in 1992, this trusted company offers a range of tours, including cultural/ancestry/city highlights, as well as hiking and ski tours in the mountains. They provide a small selection of self-guided or guided tours and can design tailor-made private trips with multi-lingual guides.

Review of Rajec Travel Website

One of the things we really appreciate about Rajec Travel is how they list daily walking details, including elevation gain and loss. We also like how personal their website is. The team leader introduces himself on the homepage and their About/Team pages assure us that we’ll be hiking with friendly experts. Finding hiking and ski tours is easy, We do wish they would provide longer descriptions for daily activities and include a few photos of mountain huts and accommodations, but they are active on social media so we suggest following them on Instagram or Facebook — plenty of stunning photos there!

Please note, their guided walking tours say “easy walks” but that is only in comparison to their more challenging mountain treks. By their definition, an easy walk might mean 11mi (18km) with 1,804ft (550m) elevation gain.
