Gros Morne Adventures is based in the heart of Newfoundland’s Gros Morne National Park and their tours focus specifically on this region. They offer single and multi-day guided tours within the park and backpacking tours on the Long Range Traverse. Multiple activities can be booked through them, including kayaking, biking, paddling and immersive indigenous experiences. If you are looking for guided active adventures on the western side of Newfoundland, this is the company to choose!
Review of Gros Morne Adventures Website
Gros Morne Adventures has a great website that’s easy to navigate. They provide good details for day and multi-day hikes, including daily distance and difficulty levels, but they aren’t consistent on details for ascents/descents for multi-day hikes. Their lists of what to pack are thorough and very helpful, as are their notes for water activities with children. If you’re interested in bike trails, you’ll find those trips under their Zodiac Tours.
You won’t find it on their website, but the story of Gros Morne Adventures’ ownership is something we think they should add to their site. Sue Rendell and her life partner Bob Hicks founded the company in 1990 and then handed over the reigns in 2018 to Kristen Hickey. Both Sue and Kristen were teachers and it’s always refreshing to see a woman-owned adventure company.
