Australian Walking Holidays

Guided, Self-guided

Australian Walking Holidays is part of the large World Expeditions Travel Group but they are Australian owned and are local experts for hiking trips in Australia and Tasmania. This company loves the wilderness and for over 20 years they’ve been introducing people to the more rugged terrains of this region. Their primary focus is guided but they offer a few self-guided trips, all of which are expedition style with basecamps and carrying your own full backpack. Their self-guided routes include the Larapinta Trail, Overland Trail and Walls of Jerusalem. Their guided trips are an excellent choice for everyone, but their self-guided trips are designed for experienced backpackers with some wilderness skills.

Australian Walking Holiday’s site is beautifully designed, easy to search, and offers great information on the territory and trails. If you know nothing about Australia’s trails, their website is a great place to start or visit their YouTube channel for a good sense of what the terrain is like.
